Drop by Mission City in Santa Clara the 1st Sunday of every month for an acoustic guitar showcase featuring both local and not-so-local acoustic performers, mostly instrumental acoustic guitar. Doug is joined each month by two other guitarists, in a round-robin format, taking turns playing tunes. Mission City Coffee Roasting Company is on The Alameda in Santa Clara, a half mile north of Highway 17, and has a very comfortable and pleasant listening room, isolated from the noise of espresso machines - it's in a different room, at least!. A great setting for acoustic guitar. Come on by! They have good food, too.
"I do quite a bit of traveling, and at times, it could be quite challenging to find a good venue - a good listening room, with a good crowd. Something many people don't understand is that the audience is a huge part of what makes a good performance. The performance could be great, but if the crowd is not willing to listen, it just doesn't happen. All three of us up on the stage will agree to thank you for being such a wonderful crowd by opening your ears and listening to us. This is wonderful!"
